The aims and mission
The National Heritage Institute provides nationwide specialist management and research services in the field of state heritage. It is a state-funded organisation under the Culture Ministry of the Czech Republic.
The National Heritage Institute’s activity can be divided into
two main areas:
- specialist guidance relating to protected buildings and objects, heritage protection areas, and related research and development
- care of those cultural monuments open to the public, above all castles and mansions, that are directly managed by the National Heritage Institute
